Help and answers
Frequently asked questions
Everything you might want to know before your first visit to our women-only spa in Orléans. Still curious? Reach out and we will gladly help.
Before your visit
Are your services only for women?+
Yes. QST Esthetics is a women-only spa, founded by sisters who wanted a space where women could relax without distraction. Every room, every appointment and every practitioner is women-only, from the moment you walk in.
Where are you located?+
We are at 2179 Mer-Bleue Rd. in Orléans, minutes from central Ottawa and easy to reach from Barrhaven, Findlay Creek and the east end. Free parking is available on site.
How do I book an appointment?+
You can book online through our Fresha page at any hour, or call us at 343 209 1584 if you would rather talk it through. We recommend booking a few days ahead for weekend times and popular treatments.
Do I need a consultation before my first treatment?+
Every visit starts with a short conversation about your skin, your comfort and what you are hoping for. There is no charge for it and no pressure to add anything on. We would rather recommend the right treatment than the biggest one.
How early should I arrive?+
Our intake forms are online, so please fill yours out before you come in. If your form is complete, you can arrive right at your appointment time and we will take you straight through. If you have not had a chance to do it, give yourself a few extra minutes.
What should I wear?+
Whatever you feel most comfortable in. For massages and body treatments we provide full draping, so you stay covered and warm throughout.
Can I keep my hijab or stay covered during my treatment?+
Of course. Our rooms are private and our team is used to working around modesty preferences of every kind. Tell us what you need when you arrive and we will make it work without you having to explain twice.
What is your cancellation policy?+
We ask for advance notice so we can offer your time to someone else waiting. Exact timeframes are listed on our Fresha booking page when you confirm your appointment.
Do you sell gift cards?+
Yes. Gift cards and appointment bundles are available through our Fresha page, and you can choose the amount or the treatment.
Can I book more than one service in the same visit?+
Yes, and we would encourage it. Give us a call rather than booking each service separately online, so we can order your appointments properly and leave the right gap between them. That way nothing overlaps and you are not sitting in the waiting room between treatments.
Treatments and services
What happens during a customized facial?+
Your esthetician looks at your skin first, then builds the treatment around what it actually needs that day, whether that is dryness, dullness, congestion or uneven texture. The session includes deep cleansing, gentle exfoliation, extractions if they are needed, and targeted treatment. You leave refreshed, hydrated and looking like you slept properly.
How do I know which facial is right for me?+
That is what the skin analysis at the start of your appointment is for. Your esthetician will talk through what she is seeing, recommend the treatment that fits, and suggest a simple routine to keep the results going at home.
How often should I book a facial?+
Most people see the best results at roughly every four to six weeks, which follows your skin's natural renewal cycle. That said, even one visit will leave your skin in better shape than when you came in.
Is dermaplaning suitable for sensitive skin?+
Dermaplaning is a gentle, non invasive exfoliation that lifts away dead skin cells and fine peach fuzz, so your products absorb better and your makeup sits smoother. Our estheticians are trained to keep it comfortable, including on sensitive skin. We will always assess your skin first.
What kind of massage do you offer?+
We offer full body relaxation massage and head and neck massage in a quiet, unhurried room. Sessions are designed to release muscle tension and give your mind somewhere else to be for an hour.
I have never been waxed before. What should I expect?+
First, you do not need to explain or apologise for anything. Your esthetician will talk you through each step before she starts, and you set the pace. There is some sensitivity, mostly in the first few seconds of each section, and it fades quickly. Most people tell us afterwards that it was easier than they had built it up to be. Wear something loose and comfortable, and we will send you home knowing exactly how to look after the skin for the next day or two.
How should I prepare for a wax?+
Let your hair grow to about a quarter inch, roughly two to three weeks of growth, so the wax has something to grip. Avoid heavy exfoliation and sun exposure for a day or two beforehand, and skip lotion on the area on the day of your appointment.
How long does a lash lift and tint last?+
A lash lift curls and a tint darkens your natural lashes, so your eyes look defined without daily mascara. Results usually hold for six to eight weeks, depending on your own lash growth cycle.
What kind of ear piercing do you offer?+
We offer two methods. The first is needle piercing, done by hand, one ear at a time, with more control over exact placement. The second is the Inverness system, a hand pressed instrument that uses sealed, pre sterilised earring capsules, so the earring is never exposed before it goes in. It is quick and quiet, and it is the method we recommend for children. Your esthetician will talk you through both and help you choose.
Do you offer bridal services?+
We do, and we love being part of the day. Bridal bookings cover makeup, veil and hijab setting, henna and pre wedding skincare prep, and we can build a package around your timeline. Group bookings for the wedding party are welcome.
Do you do henna and mehndi?+
Yes. Our team creates detailed henna designs for hands and body, whether it is for a wedding, Eid, a celebration or simply because you want it. Book ahead during festival season, since those weeks fill quickly.
Can I book treatments while pregnant?+
Many of our treatments are suitable during pregnancy and we adjust for comfort and positioning where needed. Because every pregnancy is different, we ask that you check with your doctor or midwife first, and let us know when you book so we can plan the visit properly.
